Remember when owning a cat meant buying three things?
A food bowl.
A water bowl.
A litter box.
Done.
Today, apparently, your cat can have a lifestyle upgrade.
There are automatic feeders with timers. Water fountains with filters. Elevated feeding stations. Stainless steel litter boxes. Self-cleaning litter machines. Some even connect to your phone.
Suddenly, the cat that used to drink from a plastic bowl now has appliances.
And the evolution is not only in technology.
The expenses evolved too.
Years ago, pet ownership mostly meant food, vaccines, basic supplies, and the occasional veterinary visit.
Today, many owners spend on premium diets, supplements, grooming, pet hotels, toys, smart feeders, fountains, cameras, insurance, specialized veterinary diagnostics, dental care, and advanced medical treatment.
In many households, pets are no longer treated simply as animals living in the house.
They are family.
And when something becomes family, people naturally become willing to spend more on comfort, convenience, and healthcare.
But here is the funny part.
Your cat probably does not care how much the bowl costs.
It does not know whether its litter box is imported, automatic, stainless steel, or controlled by an app.
It only knows whether the bowl has food, the water is clean, the litter box is comfortable, and someone is there to take care of it.
So yes, pet ownership has changed dramatically.
The gadgets became smarter.
The veterinary medicine became more advanced.
The choices became endless.
And unfortunately, the bills became bigger too.
Welcome to modern pet ownership.
Where sometimes the pet has better appliances than the owner.
