When I received an invitation from Boehringer Ingelheim Philippines to attend its 60th Anniversary Commemoration, I immediately knew I wanted to celebrate this milestone with them. Having worked with Boehringer Ingelheim through the years, this was more than just another corporate event. It was a celebration of six decades of innovation, partnership, and commitment to improving both human and animal health.
The event, aptly themed “Hibla ng Kalinga at Tagumpay: A Legacy of Care, 60 Years of Boehringer Ingelheim in the Philippines,” was held at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. Nearly a thousand guests attended the celebration, representing every sector of Boehringer Ingelheim—from Human Pharma, Animal Health, Poultry, Swine, and Small Animal divisions to valued partners, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders from across the country.

It was truly inspiring to witness such a diverse group united by one purpose: advancing healthcare and improving lives.
I had the privilege of being seated at Table 7, together with distinguished guests including PVMA President Dr. Lina Policarpio, PVMA Treasurer Dr. Russel Tianzon, Dr. Anthony Buccad of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Ms. Cyndy Galimpin of Boehringer Ingelheim, and Dr. Emil Dela Peña. Throughout the event, I also had the opportunity to reconnect with many colleagues, friends, and partners in the veterinary profession. It reminded me how small and closely connected our industry really is.

A Stage Worth Admiring
One of the first things that caught my attention was the stage.
The ballroom was illuminated in Boehringer Ingelheim’s signature green, creating a vibrant yet elegant atmosphere from the moment guests entered the venue. Massive LED walls stretched across the stage, displaying stunning visuals while synchronized lighting added depth and energy to every presentation.
At the center of the design was an intricate woven pattern inspired by traditional Filipino craftsmanship, perfectly complementing the theme “Hibla ng Kalinga at Tagumpay.” The woven artwork symbolized the interconnected relationships, shared purpose, and partnerships that Boehringer Ingelheim has built over the last six decades.
The combination of modern technology and Filipino-inspired design made the stage both sophisticated and meaningful. It was simple, elegant, and memorable.
The program also featured inspiring messages from local and international executives, including Dr. Torsten Mau, Country Managing Director and Head of Human Pharma for ROPU ASKAN, and Dr. Bin Wang, General Manager, who highlighted Boehringer Ingelheim’s continued commitment to innovation, collaboration, and improving lives across the region.

Thoughtful Anniversary Souvenirs
Even the event giveaways reflected the company’s attention to detail.
Each guest received a premium green notebook embossed with the Boehringer Ingelheim branding, a commemorative 60th Anniversary chocolate bar, and a beautifully wrapped woven fabric secured with a rich green ribbon. The gifts were practical, elegant, and perfectly aligned with the celebration’s Filipino-inspired theme.
It was a thoughtful reminder that meaningful souvenirs do not have to be extravagant. They simply need to tell a story.

While everyone around me enjoyed the delicious lunch buffet, I stayed committed to my personal goal and resisted the temptation. It certainly wasn’t easy, especially with such an impressive spread prepared for the guests.
But surprisingly, I never felt like I missed out.
The conversations around the table, the laughter, reconnecting with friends, meeting new people, and witnessing the company’s remarkable milestone became far more satisfying than any meal could have been.
