For veterinarians and veterinary clinic employees who have limited time to process government documents, here’s a useful update.
The Social Security System (SSS), in partnership with Asia United Bank (AUB), now offers instant printing of MySSS Cards at selected locations nationwide.
According to AUB, qualified applicants who have completed the necessary registration and approval process may have their physical cards printed in as fast as five minutes at participating kiosks.
However, this does not mean the entire application process takes only five minutes.
Applicants must first complete online registration, identity verification, and the bank’s requirements before their cards can be issued.
What is the MySSS Card?
The MySSS Card serves as an SSS identification card and a debit card linked to a partner bank account.
It can be used to receive SSS benefits, loan proceeds, pensions, and other eligible disbursements.
For AUB applicants, the card has a one-time issuance fee of ₱250, with no annual fee, dormancy fee, or required monthly maintaining balance. Other banking transaction fees may still apply.
Who can apply?
Eligible SSS members, including veterinarians and veterinary employees, generally need:
- A permanent SSS number.
- A registered My.SSS account.
- Updated personal and contact information.
- Registration under the Philippine National ID System.
- Successful identity verification and approval by the participating bank.
Applicants may start through the official My.SSS website and follow the instructions for their selected partner bank.
Where can you get your card?
Selected AUB and SSS branches have instant issuance kiosks.
In Metro Manila, reported locations include Pasig, Quezon City, Manila, Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Parañaque, Valenzuela, Las Piñas, and Muntinlupa.
Additional kiosks are available at selected locations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Important: Not every SSS or AUB branch offers instant issuance. Applicants should confirm kiosk availability, operating hours, and pickup requirements before visiting.
A reminder to veterinary clinic owners and employees
While obtaining an SSS card has become more convenient, veterinary employees should also remember that possessing an SSS card does not necessarily mean their contributions are updated.
Veterinary nurses, assistants, receptionists, groomers, kennel attendants, and other covered employees should periodically review their contribution records through their My.SSS accounts.
Veterinary clinic owners, meanwhile, must ensure proper registration and timely remittance of mandatory SSS contributions for their covered employees.
One more thing: Existing SSS UMID cards remain valid. Members are not automatically required to replace them with the new MySSS Card.
Why this matters
Veterinary professionals often work long hours, making routine government transactions difficult to schedule.
Any improvement that reduces unnecessary waiting and simplifies access to government services is a welcome development.
But convenience should always come with accurate information.
The real benefit is not simply getting a card printed in five minutes. It is making an essential government service more accessible to Filipino workers, including those working in veterinary clinics and hospitals.
